The National Atmospheric and Oceanic Administration is predicting a tropical system will develop in the Gulf of Mexico in the next couple of days. The potential impact to southwest Georgia is possible, but at this time, still hard to predict.
“Key Messages
** A tropical system is poised to enter the Gulf of Mexico on Monday with impacts possible as early as Tuesday.
** There is a large amount of uncertainty with the path this system will take.
** The biggest concern will be prolonged heavy rainfall and flooding. The greatest chance of heavy rainfall and flooding appears to be across southeast Alabama and the Florida panhandle.”
