Hurricane Matthew Update (Thursday 8:45 a.m.)

The National Weather Service is predicting that parts of south Georgia will feel the effects of Hurricane Matthew, but at this time, it is expected to be limited to the eastern portion of the state.  From the NWS:

-The overall track has not changed since last evening. There remains a 30-40% chance of tropical storm force winds east of a line from Tifton, GA to Perry, FL, with wind gusts to 40 mph possible over these areas Friday.

-While the overall track has not shifted any further westward overnight, it is advised to continue to monitor the system throughout the day, as any further shifts westward would result in impactful weather across the aforementioned areas.
-Matthew has undergone rapid intensification overnight and will likely reach Category 4 status prior to landfall.”
