Bainbridge Bearcats football players of the week (Worth County and Dougherty)

The Bainbridge Bearcats’ varsity football team has an off week this Friday night. They will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 30 at 7:30 p.m., facing Westover at Centennial Field. Bearcats Players of the Week – Dougherty Game

Offensive Player of the Week – Senior wide receiver Tyler Storey. In the Dougherty game, Storey set two Bainbridge High School records – Most Receptions in a Season with 50 by catching 7 passes last Friday night. His 156 receiving yards also makes him the holder of a new school record for Most Receiving Yards in a Season with 930 yards.

Defensive Player of the Week – Junior defensive tackle Jordan Fleming. Fleming had seven tackles and one quarterback sack vs. Dougherty.

Special Teams Player of the Week – Junior starting fullback Malique Pate. Pate had three tackles on special teams vs. Dougherty.

Bearcat Award, given to player who shows outstanding off-the-field leadership – Senior cornerback Curtis Keaton. Keaton has an excellent 3.92 Grade Point Average.

Other Bainbridge vs. Dougherty Notes: Bainbridge sophomore running back Dameon Pierce set a Bainbridge High School record for Most Touchdowns in a Season, by scoring four on Friday night. Pierce has 23 touchdowns so far this season…For the first time since 1960, Bainbridge has began the season with an 8-0 record.

Bearcats of the Week – Worth County

Offensive Player of the Week – Senior center Curtis Brown, who is part of a Bearcats offensive line that has paved the way for more than 1400 yards of rushing as a team so far this season.

Defensive Player of the Week – Senior safety Elijah Tyler, who had eight tackles against Worth County.

Special Teams Player of the Week – Junior Clark Wiggins

Bearcat Award, presented to the player who shows outstanding off-the-field leadership – Earnest Williams. Earnest’s teachers say he has a good attitude and is helpful in the classroom.
