Decatur Sheriff’s deputies search for suspect caught on video breaking into cars (WATCH)

The Decatur County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in identifying a male caught on camera breaking into cars in a subdivision last week.

Three vehicles in the River Oaks subdivision were broken into sometime in the early hours of Thursday, Sept. 24, Investigator Redell Walton said. The River Oaks subdivision is located off Spring Creek Road in Bainbridge.

Purses were reported stolen from two of the vehicles the suspect entered, Walton said.

While investigating the break-ins, Sheriff’s deputies noticed one of the homes had a surveillance camera mounted outside. Investigators pulled the video, which shows a male looking into an SUV using a flashlight.

Sheriff’s deputies are asking the public to watch the video, and if they recognize the person pictured, to call the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office.
