Around Our Area: Albany police arrest two in arson-burglaries

Albany Police arrested two individuals in connection with three home burglaries where the houses were then set on fire.

Marcus Solomon and Anquan Owens were both arrested and are being charged with three counts of arson and three counts of burglary.

The investigation was a joint effort between APD and the Albany Fire Department.

Solomon and Owens were interviewed by investigators from both departments and later charged.

Officials discovered that Solomon and Owens entered the three homes, took several items and then set multiple fires before leaving the residences.

The fires were started on the inside of the buildings causing major damage.

Florida Man Arrested in Valdosta on Pimping, Drug Charges

The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man in connection with drugs and involvement in prostitution.

LCSO says 36-year-old David McKire of White Springs, Fla. was arrested when he tried to run from deputies around 9 p.m. Friday night.

Deputies found three-quarters of an ounce of Flakka, plastic bags, scales and a small amount of cocaine.

McKire is charged with pimping, possession of tools for the commission of a crime, possession of Alpha PVP (Flakka) with the intent to distribute, possession of cocaine, obstruction of an officer.

McKire appeared before a judge Monday. See picture of the suspect at WCTV.tv
