U.S. Congressman Jack Kingston stopped by the small town of Climax, GA, to talk about agriculture and other issues before of a crowd of about 60-70 people on Thursday, April 24.
Kingston, a Republican from Savannah, Ga., is running for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Saxby Chambliss of Moultrie, Ga., who is retiring.
Kingston had visited Bainbridge on February 14 of this year, and returned as part of his campaign tour around the state. Kingston worked in insurance for about 10 years before entering politics in 1982. He served in the Georgia House of Representatives from 1985-1993. He has served in the U.S. House of Representatives since 1993.
In an approximately 16 minute speech, Kingston talked about his personal background and the importance of agriculture and the military to Georgia’s economy. He also briefly answered questions from the audience.
