Two clubs of local motorcycle enthusiasts saw a need and done something about it. Bainbridge chapters of the Remaining Few Motorcycle Club and the Honor Sentinel Riding Club both conducted School Supply Drives activities this past month. Their combined efforts resulted in a local families four children receiving all of their needed school supplies and a large delivery of supplies to the Decatur County School System.
On Sunday, August 2, representatives from both clubs made a special trip to visit a local family whom due to medical issues did not know where the clothes and school supplies needed for their four children were going to come from. A friend of the family contacted the Remaining Few MC about this family that was in need. Due to the Fathers current medical condition and medical bills the mother had been collecting cans in an effort to get what her kids needed for school.
The children were each given a backpack full of all that they would need for the coming school year. A representative from the Remaining Few MC also delivered the much needed clothes. Prayer for this family was led by a representative from Honor Sentinel RC. The mother was given contact numbers for both clubs and told to call if they needed anything else.
On Wednesday, August 5, a huge donation of school supplies were delivered to the Decatur School System. Mrs. Catherine Gossett who is director of special education was very happy to see all of the supplies that the two clubs had collected. She said “She wished more people would do this” and “that children who have nothing are so happy and excited to receive new supplies for school”. A promise was made to Mrs. Gossett that next year would be another delivery.
