The Seminole County Indians and Baconton Charter School exchanged the lead nine times on Thursday, but Indians ended up on top with a 7-6 win in seven innings over the Blazers.
Seminole County lost to Baconton in a road game on February 17.
Back in Donalsonville on Thursday, Seminole County managed to grab the lead after a strong sixth inning, when a passed ball scored Brock Taylor.
Braxton Clement put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for Seminole County. Clement doubled in the first and third innings and singled in the fourth and sixth innings.
Jacob Cunningham got the win in relief for the Indians, pitching 2 2/3 innings and allowed one run.
Morgan couldn’t get it done on the bump for Baconton, taking a loss. He lasted just three innings, walked two, struck out five, and allowed three runs.
Baconton jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Baconton’s rally started when Raley singled.
Seminole County tied things up in the bottom of the first on an RBI single by Cunningham.
The Indians added on two runs of their own in the second, scoring on an error and an RBI double by Tyler Hodges.
Baconton tallied one run in each of the third, fifth and sixth. In the third, Baconton scored on a fielder’s choice, plating Morgan.
The sixth inning spelled defeat for Baconton, as Seminole County grabbed the lead for good. More runners rounded the bases on a two-run triple by Taylor.
