Video from Bainbridge City Council meeting regarding the historic train engine located in the Boat Basin

Here is a video clip from Tuesday night’s Bainbridge City Council meeting, at which the issue of whether or not to allow a Kentucky town to have a historic train engine for their railroad museum was discussed.

 

 

The video, which is 9:57 in length (edited down from approximately 35 minutes), begins with the Corbin, Kentucky officials explaining their request to “reposition” the train engine currently located in the Earle May Boat Basin in Bainbridge.

Then, Corbin tourism representatives explain what they propose to offer Bainbridge in return for allowing the train to move (which is still undecided, as the City Council tabled consideration of the matter until a future meeting.)

There are several minutes of City Council members discussing their feelings on the request to move the train engine.

Then comes comments by four different citizens (some for, some against the train moving).

And finally, City Councilman Joe Sweet’s motion to table the matter until more research can be done on the request, and City Manager Chris Hobby’s response.
