Wednesday, January 14, 2015 the jury found Mr. Stork guilty on all three counts and was sentenced to Life in the penal system without parole by Honorable Judge Kevin Chason.

With the assistance of Camilla Police Department Investigator Robert Casterline, evidence at trial showed that Mr. Stork shot and killed Rodney Pate on February 8, 2014 in Mitchell County.

Mulholland, District Attorney for the South Georgia Judicial Circuit, stated “I hope the Pate and Byrd family can now have a little closure knowing Mr. Stork has been held accountable for his horrendous conduct. Mitchell County lost a fine young man on February 8 and my prayers go out to the families. This was a tremendous week for our office, we had a great jury pool and we were able to secure a conviction on a three day trial.”

At least 50 other defendants were arrested, charged and entered guilty pleas this week in Mitchell County. The defendants were sentenced to serve some time in custody or lengthy probation.
