First off, to answer the question: NO. In the last four recruiting cycles, Alabama has landed the #2, #1, #5 and #1 classes. It’s been two seasons since Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide won their last National Championship (and his 5th in Tuscaloosa). Alabama is Alabama. And as long as Nick Saban is Nick Saban, they will be fine.
It’s worth noting, however, that Bama finished the season ranked 8th in 2019, behind conference counterparts LSU, UGA, and Florida. It’s also worth noting that Alabama currently has the 41st ranked recruiting class in the country for 2021 according to 24/7 sports. I think Nick Saban and crew will fare just fine – He’s Nick Saban and it’s Alabama. And for what it’s worth, the crew that currently ranks the Bama class amongst the likes of Miami (OH) and Arkansas thinks they’ll be just fine too.
