Saturday, September 14th marks the 30th Anniversary of Fire Chief Doyle Welch’s employment with the Bainbridge Public Safety Department. Welch began his career with BPS in 1989 as an Officer, and was promoted to Assistant Fire Chief in 1993. In addition to his Public Safety responsibilities, he also was the owner of Welch Construction Company from 1996 until 2010. In 2015, Welch was promoted to Bainbridge Public Safety Fire Chief, a position he holds to this day.
Over the years, Welch has earned 15 State Qualifications, 10 National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications, and 35 Professional Training Certificates. His wealth of knowledge, acquired over a thirty year period, is hard to match. Born and raised in Cairo, he has two daughters and is married to Toni Kinsey Welch.
