911 CALL RESULTS IN DRUG BUST:

On Wednesday, July 17th around 7:30pm, an E911 call was dispatched to Bainbridge Public Safety in reference to a possible hostage situation. Officers were advised that the caller stated that a subject was being held hostage at gunpoint at a location on Church Street.

Investigator Chip Nix, Captain Nigel Hurst, Sergeant Tim McCain, Officer Leroy Akins, Officer John Walker, and Officer Lakatie Reels responded to the location. Upon arrival, Investigator Nix made contact with the victim who stated he had been held at gunpoint, and directed officers towards a vehicle with a male subject inside in the driver’s seat. Officers made contact with the driver, identified as Timothy Gemrone Hodges (41). Officers asked him to step out of the vehicle and if he had a weapon, to which he stated that he didn’t. He gave consent for officers to search his vehicle and they located a digital scale, a box of zipper-close baggies, a large amount of counterfeit bills, and several plastic bags containing Molly, cocaine, and marijuana. No weapon was found on Hodges or in his vehicle.

The drugs and money were turned over to Investigator Nix, and Hodges was transported to Bainbridge Public Safety where he was arrested and charged with:

Possession of Cocaine (Felony)
Possession of a Controlled Substance (Felony)
Possession, Sale, Manufacture, or Distribution of Marijuana (Felony)
Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute (Felony)
