NWS: Flash Flood Watch for SWGA Counties

The National Weather Service in Tallahassee has issued a FLASH FLOOD WATCH for southeast Alabama and southwest Georgia until 8:00 a.m. Friday.  Rainfall totals are expected to reach 6″ in areas.

The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for

* the following counties in Southeast Alabama, Coffee, Dale,
Henry, Geneva, and Houston. In Southwestern Georgia, Clay,
Early, Miller, Seminole, and Decatur. In the Florida Big Bend,
Gadsden, Liberty, Franklin, Leon and Wakulla.

* Through Friday morning

* Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches with isolated
maximum amounts up to 6 inches possible.

* Flash flooding is possible, particularly in areas that receive
heavy rainfall in a short period of time.
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
