Photos from Monday Night’s Storm Damage

A damaging storm swept through West Bainbridge late Monday night leaving local businesses damaged and hundreds without power.

According to reports, a little after 10:00 p.m. Monday night, a possible tornado touched down in the West Bainbridge area, near Dothan Road.  Based on photos, the wind damage from the storm was significant.  Metal siding was ripped, windshields busted on parked cars, and metal buildings were nearly ripped from their foundation.  At this time, we are waiting for official confirmation from the National Weather Service on whether or not the damage was the result of a tornado, but multiple witnesses have made such reports.

According to Bryan Hall with Jimmy’s Auto Sales, at least 25-30 vehicles on their lot were damaged, as well as multiple buildings and trailers, with one trailer completely missing from the lot.

Bainbridge Public Safety posed a Facebook update late Monday night that stated there were multiple power lines down in the West Bainbridge area and debris in the roadway.

Those Georgia Power customers in the area can refer to Georgia Power’s Outage Map for updated outage totals and time frames.
