The City of Bainbridge is kicking off the holidays with a bang this week.
On Thursday, December 1, the annual Yuletide Jubilee will kick off the holiday season downtown. The streets will be blocked around Willis Park, allowing the community to stroll among the shops and restaurants. The public is invited to the square to see the Great Christmas Tree lit among song and celebration as the Yuletide Jubilee kicks off at 6:00 Thursday.
At dark Thursday, the Lights along the River will be plugged in for the first time. Area businesses chipped in and purchased large light displays that are set up along Hatcher Road, between Cheney Griffin Park and the Earl May Boat Basin. Visitors can tune their radios to 99.3 FM to enjoy Christmas music as well (24 hours/day).
The annual Christmas parade will be held next Thursday, December 8th. Anyone interested in having a vehicle, group, or float in the parade, entry forms need to be turned in by this Friday. Interested parties can stop by City Hall, or visit BainbridgeCity.com to print a registration form.
