Routine Traffic Stop Yields Drug Arrest

On Tuesday, November 8th around 10:30am, Officer Jayson Myers performed a routine traffic stop at the intersection of Sims Street and Troupe Street.

When Myers approached the vehicle, he could smell a strong odor of green marijuana coming from the vehicle. Investigators Mark Esquivel and Chris Avery were called to the scene to secure the contraband. Todd Sharod Davis, Jr. (21) was charged with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Sell or Distribute (Felony), Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute within 1000 feet of a Park or Housing Project (Felony), and Obstructing or Hindering Officers (Misdemeanor.
