- BAINBRIDGE, GA (SOWEGALIVE) – Tropical Storm Hermine is projected to make landfall today and may reach hurricane status before it reaches the Florida panhandle.
- BAINBRIDGE, GA (POST SEARCHLIGHT) – Bainbridge Public Safety arrested Michael Roland Jr. on Friday, Aug. 26 on the charge of Manufacturing Marijuana after finding four marijuana plants in his possession.
- LEE COUNTY, GA (ALBANY HERALD) – There have been more sightings of Southwest Georgia’s “fugitive” primate, and late Friday the Georgia Department of Natural Resources released images of the animal.
- DOTHAN, AL (DOTHAN EAGLE) – A Dothan man faces a felony animal cruelty charge after police say he poured alcohol on a turtle and set it on fire.
- TIFT CO., GA (WALB) – 13-years after a mysterious murder in Tift County, the victim’s family is still hoping for answers.
- ATLANTA (AP) – An Atlanta-area sheriff who says he accidentally shot and injured a woman while they were practicing police tactics inside an empty model home has pleaded no contest to a reckless-conduct charge.
- CAPE CANAVERAL, FL (THE VERGE) – SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket, meant to launch a satellite this weekend, exploded on the launch pad at Cape Canaveral, Florida.
