The National Weather Service in Tallahassee is predicting slightly less rain for the remainder of the week, but southwest Georgia will still see it’s fair share. The most significant rainfall has been seen in the Florida panhandle:
“A flood watch is now in effect for the Florida Big Bend and Panhandle through Wednesday Evening • Significant heavy rainfall has occurred across the Southeast Florida Big Bend where some locations have received more than 15 inches of rainfall since the beginning of this event. Some moderately heavy totals occurred across the Florida Panhandle on Monday afternoon. • The Steinhatchee River continues to rise and is now anticipated to crest above moderate flood stage on Wednesday afternoon.” — NWS
By Friday, areas of southwest Georgia will have received 3-5 inches of rain, with some places receiving much more.
