According to Jim Cantore of the Weather Channel, the Gulf of Mexico could be cooking up a tropical storm or worse in the next few days. Below are screen shots from Cantore’s twitter account:
This graphic showed a 20% chance of formation within 5 days (posted Wednesday)
On Thursday, the chance was upped to 30%
As of Friday morning, the chance of development has been raised to 50%.
If the storm forms, the forecast calls for heavy rains and wind in the southeast United States. We will post more details as they develop.
