At this time, we can confirm that the investigation was not a Bainbridge Public Safety investigation and the charge was brought by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

According to reports, Decatur County Sheriff’s Investigator Robert Humphrey has been arrested and charged with Obstruction of an Officer and Violation of Oath of a Public Defender.
“This case has nothing to do with the Decatur County Sheriff’s office. This is related to a conversation between Robert Humphrey and a Bainbridge Public Safety Officer, concerning a matter related to a Bainbridge Public Safety Officer. I was made aware on June 2nd, and based on the charges, it required me to terminate Mr.Humphrey. I wish Mr Robert Humphrey the best in the future.” — Sheriff Wiley Griffin
Humphrey was released on bail.
