Bainbridge Public Safety has taken both suspects in Thursday night’s shooting into custody.
Rayvon Dejon Moten, 24, 114 Margaret Gaines Road, Bainbridge, was arrested at about 4:30 a.m. Friday, according to Bainbridge Public Safety.
The second suspect, 30-year-old Ray Lee Jones Jr., of Bainbridge, was arrested around 10:30 a.m. Friday.
Both Rayvon Moten and Ray Jones Jr. are charged with four counts of aggravated assault and two counts of aggravated battery.
BPS investigators have recovered two guns believed to have been used in the shooting. The guns are identified as a Glock .40 caliber pistol and a .380 semi-automatic pistol.
We had earlier reported that a man and a woman had been injured in the shooting. The woman was located inside the home and was struck in the hand by a bullet.
According to BPS, the male victim was standing in the front yard of 916 Japonica Drive when the two suspects pulled up in a car. At some point, the man ran for cover into the house, where police later found him lying just inside the front door.
It isn’t clear if the male victim was shot outside the home or the bullet came inside the home, but in any case, the outcome is tragic: a bullet hit the man’s kidney and was lodged into his spine. He is now in paralyzed in the hospital, although he is expected to live.
The victims’ names weren’t released by Bainbridge Public Safety, citing privacy concerns.
Two people were injured after a shooting at a Bainbridge home on Thursday, Dec. 10, according to Bainbridge Public Safety.
The shooting happened at 10:52 p.m. at 916 Japonica Drive in Bainbridge.
Two men drove up to the house and started yelling for someone they were told lived at the house, according to BPS investigators.
A resident of the house came outside and told the two men that they didn’t know who they were talking about and a person by that name didn’t live at the home.
At that point, one of the two suspects pulled out a gun and started shooting. Seconds later, a second man inside the car also started shooting toward the house.
It’s not clear how many people were located inside or outside the home, but in any event, the two people who were struck by the bullets were inside the home hiding at the time, according to BPS.
A woman was shot in the hand and was taken by an ambulance to Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge for treatment.
A man who was inside the house was also struck by a bullet and was seriously injured. The male victim was transported to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital by an emergency medical helicopter.
One of the two shooting suspects was arrested in the early hours of Friday, according to a BPS spokesperson.
BPS investigators are still looking for the 2nd shooting suspect and are conducting interviews related to the case on Friday morning.
As of 10 a.m. Friday, BPS was not releasing the name of the suspects, or the names and conditions of the two people who were injured.
We expect to update this story throughout the day on Friday, as more details become available.
