On Dec. 1, Bainbridge State College named Assistant Professor of Allied Health, Charles White, the 2016 Rick Perkins award winner.

The Rick Perkins Award for Excellence in Technical Instruction honors technical education’s most outstanding instructors. It has been an ongoing statewide event since 1991 and is designed to recognize technical college instructors who make significant contributions to technical education through innovation and leadership in their fields.

Perkins winners are selected at each of the state’s technical colleges.

White was honored and excited to go forward in the awards process.

He said, “You have all been a great part of my inspiration to become who I am today. I am excited to go forward in the award’s process, and aim to do my best to garner the State award next year, not just for myself—but for Bainbridge State College.”

White will compete in the regional competition scheduled for March 2016. The state competition will be held April 2016 in Atlanta.
The 2016 Rick Perkins state winner will serve as “Instructor of the Year” and ambassador for technical education in Georgia.
