On Dec. 1, 2015, BSC student Kenneth Brock of Whigham was named the 2016 GOAL winner at Bainbridge State College.

Being named the GOAL student at the local level is an honor for Health Sciences and Professional Studies students.

The overall objective for the GOAL program is to stimulate the community’s interest in and knowledge of technical education by recognizing outstanding student talent as well as strengthening the association between educators and the business community.

The following students were nominated for GOAL: Kenneth Brock, Regina Martin, Gabriel Russo, Betina Tripp and Gabriel Widner.

In honoring the students’ nominations and achievements, Dr Richard Carvajal said:

“These students did not just get here by being okay. They got here because they are in fact the best of the best. We have about 2,500 students and this group is among that core group of the best students at Bainbridge State College.”

Brock was nominated by BSC Instructor of Electronics, Owen Elkins.

He will compete in the regional competition scheduled for March 2016. The state competition will be held April 2016 in Atlanta.

A panel of leaders from the business, industry and government sectors will interview the GOAL students and choose one to be the state’s 2016 GOAL winner and the recipient of a GOAL medallion.
