Bainbridge Bearcats improve on one Top 10 poll, hold strong on another

The Bainbridge High School Bearcats defeated Worth County 30-14 last night, making the Bearcats’ record stand at 7 wins, 0 losses. The last time Bainbridge started the season 7-0 was in 1986.

Bainbridge’s rank on the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s list of the Top 10 AAAA high school football teams remains unchanged at #5.

Last week: Beat Worth County 30-14. Dameon Pierce rushed for 190 yards and four touchdowns on 27 carries. Brett McLaughlin was 13-of-23 passing for 211 yards, although was intercepted three times. Tyler Storey had 123 yards on five receptions. Bainbridge led 21-0 at halftime, but Worth got within 21-14 in the third quarter. Next: Friday at Dougherty (3-2)

On the Georgia High School Sportswriters’ Association Top 10 list (which is updated on Thursdays), Bainbridge rose from #8 to #7 last week.
