The Bainbridge High School varsity football team face off against the Worth County Rams on Friday night, and both players and coaches hope Bearcat fans will come out and support the team.
Listen to the Bearcats on Live 101.9 FM or streaming online right here at sowegalive.com! Pregame coverage starts at 6 p.m. and kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.!
Bainbridge, which has 6 wins and 0 losses, will host region opponent Worth County, who have 3 win and 2 losses on the season. Worth County won 2 region games against Crisp County and Dougherty, and their only losses came to Class 6A Lee County and AA powerhouse Fitzgerald.
Appearing on the Jesus and Jammin’ morning radio show on our Flint Media stations Thursday morning, Coach Littleton accepted a check for $350 from First National Bank to go to the Bearcat Touchdown Club, which supports the football team with meals and travel. The $350 represents the seven touchdowns the Bearcats scored last week against Americus-Sumter, and is one of several ways First National Bank supports Bainbridge High School and its football team.
Littleton names Bearcats’ Players of the Week
Offensive Player of the Week is Malik Tate, a fullback and tailback who had 70 yards rushing and made several key blocks in the game to help the Bearcats’ offense.
Defensive Player of the Week is Elsenor Williams, a linebacker who had 8 tackles against Americus-Sumter, including one tackle for a loss and one pass break up.
The Special Teams Player of the Week is senior Russell Wheeler, who has performed well as the Bearcats’ long snapper.
The Bearcat Award, which goes to the player who demonstrates leadership off-the-field and in the classroom, is wide receiver Zion McGee.
