The Bainbridge High School Lady Bearcats varsity softball team lost 5-4 in seven innings on Monday, despite outhitting Berrien County seven to six.
Emily Dillard recorded the win for Berrien. She allowed four runs over seven innings. Dillard struck out two, walked two and gave up seven hits.
Berrien was sparked by Aubrey Dandy and Folsom, who teamed up for five hits and three RBIs.
Abigail Gardner took the loss for the Lady Bearcats. She lasted just seven innings, walked five, struck out four, and allowed five runs.

Berrien jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first. A two-run blast by Folsom, plating Sarah Jewell started the inning off.
The Lady Bearcats answered Berrien’s top inning with two runs of its own in the first. The Lady Bearcats scored on a passed ball and a groundout by Mabry Grace Briggs.
The game’s last lead went to Berrien thanks to a third inning rally that saw two runs cross the plate on a two-run single by Dillard.
Two runs in the bottom of the sixth helped the Lady Bearcats close its deficit to 5-4. A sacrifice fly by Mckynleigh Harrell and an RBI single by Tykira Adams triggered the Lady Bearcats’ comeback. Berrien stopped the rally after Dillard got Tori Sprenkle to fly out.
