In Decatur County, we received reports of damaging wind events, including a possible tornado touchdown in the Bethany community off Georgia 253 South, and another possible touchdown in the “Pecan Orchard” off U.S. 27 South, where several large pecan trees were said to be knocked over. We also saw numerous Decatur County residents posting about power outages after the storm.

It stormed throughout Southwest Georgia and the Florida Panhandle during the day on Tuesday. We heard weather alerts going off starting at 11 a.m. and continuing until7 p.m. The worst of the weather came through Decatur County just before 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Here are some pictures taken by John Parker of the aftermath of the possible tornado touchdown off Bethany Church Road in southwestern Decatur County. Visit sowegalive.com on Wednesday and we will try and post more pictures of storm damage. You can also email your Southwest Georgia storm pictures to brennan@live1019.com for use on sowegalive.com
