TALLAHASSEE – Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher announced the addition of graduate transfer quarterback Everett Golson on Tuesday.

Golson brings two years of starting experience at Notre Dame to Tallahassee and a 17-6 overall record.

The Myrtle Beach, S.C., native passed for 3,445 yards and 29 touchdowns in 2014, while rushing for another eight scores.

“After meeting with Everett, I came away very impressed,” Fisher said. “He is extremely intelligent and a very personable young man. It’s a pleasure for us to add him to our Seminole family. We’ve been one of the most successful programs in the country the last few years, and we look forward to getting him down here this summer to begin work on helping us continue that success.”

Golson went 10-1 as a redshirt freshman signal-caller in 2012, passing for 2,405 yards and 12 touchdowns, while leading the Fighting Irish to the BCS National Championship Game. Golson passed for 270 yards and a score in a loss to Alabama at the Orange Bowl in that game.

For his career, Golson has passed for 5,850 yards and 41 touchdowns with 20 interceptions over 25 games, including 23 starts. He has added 581 yards and 14 touchdowns on the ground.
