A concerned citizen’s tip helped Bainbridge Public Safety arrest a man for cocaine possession on Monday afternoon.

At approximately 1:30 p.m. Monday, Bainbridge Public Safety officers were told by E-911 dispatchers that there was a man walking on Green Street toward its intersection with Scott Street, and passed along the man’s description.

Several BPS officers, including Investigator Chris Jordan, responded and observed a man wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans walking on Fleming Street. The man spotted police officers and Investigator Jordan observed him drop an amber-colored pill bottle in the back yard of a residence.

Investigator Jordan began talking with the man, identified as Travis Leon Harris, 34, of 116 St. Paul Church Road, Bainbridge. While Captain James Dollar stood by with Harris, Investigator Jordan walked over to the pill bottle and found crack cocaine inside the bottle.

Harris was arrested and later admitted the cocaine was his. He was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.
