Valdosta, Ga. – More than 200 prospects from a half dozen states gathered at Martin Stadium, home to Lowndes High, in Valdosta, Georgia, on Sunday for the first MVP Camp of 2015.
As a chilly morning in South Georgia gave way to a balmy afternoon, the competition heated up on the field. With campers rolling in from all over Georgia, Florida, Alabama, the Carolinas, and as far away as Las Vegas, there was plenty of exciting action throughout the positional drills, one-on-ones and the Showcase period, in which top players at each position battled against opponents to reveal the best of the bests.
As the camp concluded, coaches selected the top performer in each position group, as well as an overall camp MVP and top underclassmen. Top position performers received a plaque to commemorate their selections, while the overall MVP and top underclassmen each took home a nearly four-foot tall trophy.
