Mitchell County teen recognized for participation in Georgia National Guard’s ‘Youth ChalleNGe’

CLAY NATIONAL GUARD CENTER, Ga.– Command Chief Master Sgt. Joseph Greene, recognized a Mitchell County teen, Thursday, Jan. 8, for for his participation in the Georgia National Guard’s 22-week Youth ChalleNGe Academy while attending the Georgia Adjutant General and Commanding General change of command ceremony in Marietta at Clay National Guard Center.

Benjamin T. Jackson, of Camilla Ga., is one of three cadets to receive recognition for his hard work achievement while attending the Youth ChalleNGe Academy.

Since participating in the Youth ChalleNGe program, Jackson is pursuing his GED and hopes enlist in the Army National Guard.
Command Chief Master Sergeant Joseph R. Greene is the Senior Enlisted Adviser for the Georgia Department of Defense and State Command Chief for the Georgia Air National Guard. In this capacity, he is responsible for advising the Adjutant General and Component Commanders on all matters pertaining to the enlisted personnel of the Georgia Department of Defense. Chief Greene, serves on the national level, as the Region 3 representative to the ANG Enlisted Field Advisory Council.
