The discovery was found near McRae, Ga., a small town of about 5,500 people located 34 miles south of Dublin, Ga.

On Monday afternoon, the Telfair County Sheriff’s Office posted this on their Facebook Page: Telfair County Sheriff Chris Steverson has confirmed that investigators have recovered the 2003 GMC Envoy owned by Mr. and Mrs. Runion. It was found submerged in a lake. Two bodies were also recovered at a separate location. However, the bodies have not been positively identified at this time. The investigation is continuing and more details will be made available as soon as they are known.

Telfair County Sheriff Chris Steverson says the bodies have not officially been identified and authorities have been in touch with the Runion family. He said the car was found not far from McRae.

Authorities have said 28-year-old Ronnie Adrian “Jay” Towns, of McRae, Ga., has been arrested on charges of giving false statements and criminal attempt to commit theft by deception.
