Wednesday weather update: wet and windy, tornado watch continued

  • Southwest Georgia has received approximately 6-7 inches of rain so far and more is on the way.
  • A tornado watch is in effect for SE AL, Southwest Georgia and Northwest Florida until 2 PM Wednesday
  • A flash flood warning was issued Wednesday morning for SE Seminole County and SW Decatur Cpunty due to 2 inches of rain falling in one hour

A complex weather system moving eastward will result in continued difficult to hazardous travel conditions across much of the eastern U.S. today. Severe weather will continue to be possible across portions of the Southeast with damaging winds as the primary threat; however tornadoes cannot be ruled out. Strong winds will also be possible from the Tennessee Valley into the Northeast.
