Bainbridge Public Safety officers helped locate a suspect who was wanted in connection with a shooting death in Crisp County, GA.
On September 12th, 20-year-old Jasperin Jaborius Armstrong was found deceased on Ferry Landing Road in Crisp County with a gunshot wound to the head.
31-year-old Rocquel Quinton Chavers of Bainbridge (pictured) was arrested in Bainbridge Tuesday and served with a warrant for his arrest out of the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office, according to Bainbridge Public Safety.
According to Major Robert Humphrey, chief investigator of Bainbridge Public Safety, Chavers had heard police were looking for him and decided to turn himself in. The Crisp County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating Armstrong’s death.
Chavers is charged with murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
21-year-old Rontavious Domonic Towns of Cordele, Ga., was arrested Wednesday and is charged with murder, felony murder and aggravated assault.
