We have learned of a fatal accident occurring in Thomasville, GA shortly before 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8.
The accident happened on Georgia Highway 122 near its intersection with Airport Road, near the Country Oaks Golf Course.
State troopers are investigating the accident.
From WTXL:
Georgia State Patrol troopers say 31-year old Mary Haynes of Colquitt County was driving east on Highway 122. They say she was not in a passing zone when she went around a stopped vehicle trying to turn on Airport Road. Troopers say she went into the path of Dodge Ram headed west on the highway, hitting the truck head on.
The wreck actually involved 2 vehicles. A car pulled out in front of a Grady EMC truck across double yellow lines and hit it head on traveling at a high rate of speed. Both vehicles went airborne and landed in the southwest ditch. I couldn’t find a pulse on the driver when I got to the car. It happened 1/4 mile in front of me.
