A four-year-old child was injured after being struck by a car in Bainbridge on Saturday night, May 31, according to Bainbridge Public Safety.
As of Monday, the child was reportedly in serious condition at a Tallahassee, Fla., hospital, according to BPS Major Robert Humphrey.
The accident happened at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday night on Bluffton Drive, which is located off Belcher Lane in northeast Bainbridge. Bainbridge Public Safety officers and Sheriff’s deputies were among the first at the scene to administer first aid to the four-year-old.
The accident was investigated by Trooper First Class Walt Landrum of the Georgia State Patrol’s Colquitt, Ga., post. Bainbridge Public Safety Investigator Chip Nix was looking into how the four-year-old was being supervised at the time of the accident.
