ATLANTA – A Cairo father of four was wild with excitement upon discovering a tremendous Georgia Lottery windfall during a weekend road trip. Jon Prater, 31, is one of three winners each to win $243,518 from matching all five numbers drawn from the May 17 Fantasy 5 drawing.

Prater claimed his prize Monday at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Tifton.

Winning numbers from the May 17 Fantasy 5 drawing were: 2-6-11-16-20.

Susie Q’s #0008, 995 U.S. Highway 84 E. in Cairo, sold the winning Quik Pik ticket. Additional tickets with the jackpot prize were sold in Jackson and Valdosta.

The lucky winner and his wife, Trista, were on their way to Wild Adventures Theme Park with their children when they discovered the good news.

“My wife got a copy of the results at a gas station,” Prater said. “We went back home to place the ticket in a safe place, and we enjoyed the rest of our day.”

A quality control manager for a boat manufacturer, Prater is excited over his windfall.

“We can take care of necessities and plan for the future,” he shared.
