What’s going on this weekend in Southwest Georgia?

The United Way of Bainbridge-Decatur County will hold its annual Day of Action this Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at The Friendship House, located at 220 N. Russ Street, Bainbridge. Donations will be accepted during that time for paper, canned goods, clothing and supplies.

The re-scheduled 2014 National Mayhaw Festival will be held in at Spring Creek Park and in downtown Colquitt, Ga., on Friday, May 9 and Saturday, May 10. WGMK Rockin’ 106.3 FM will be broadcasting live from the Mayhaw Festival between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Saturday.

“Friday on the Square”, kicks off the weekend with a bake sale with local cakes, pies, and other goodies, lots of good country barbeque.

Saturday, will start with a 5K race, 1 Mile Fun Walk, and a Main Street parade that will begin at 10 am followed by local entertainment. Vendors will be selling arts, crafts, collectibles, and a variety of food. There will be many special attractions and displays for all ages .
