Georgia State Patrol collecting Toys for Tots

GSP_Toys_for_Tots_picChristmas is just around the corner. In an effort to make sure no child is without a toy this Christmas, the  Georgia State Patrol post in Colquitt, Ga., is sponsoring their annual Toys for Tots campaign.

During December, the Georgia State Patrol will be working to collect new, unwrapped toys, and will distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in our local community.

As part of their collection efforts, Georgia state troopers will be at the Bainbridge Wal-Mart on Wednesday, December 9 starting at noon. Troopers from your local Colquitt post will be standing by both entrances to the Wal-Mart through Wednesday evening, Sgt. Craig Singletary said.

“We invite anyone to consider donating a new, unwrapped toy or you can also make a monetary donation which will be used to buy toys,” said Sgt. Singletary.

All Toys for Tots donations goes to providing toys, books, and other gifts to less fortunate children in the community. Sgt. Singletary said the Georgia Department of Family and Children’s Services will make sure the toys go to local families to help make their Christmas brighter.

Toys for Tots drop off boxes are also located at multiple local businesses.

The ultimate success of this program depends on the support of the local community and the generosity of the people who donate toys.

Donate to Toys for Tots and help put a smile on a child’s face this Christmas. Every child deserves a little joy.
