A semi-trailer truck hauling lumber overturned in Mitchell County on Monday morning, causing vehicle detours.
The accident happened at the intersection of Georgia Highway 37 and River Road, between Newton and Camilla, according to the Camilla Fire Department.
When the truck overturned, the lumber it was carrying spilled onto the highway. It will take at least an hour, perhaps more, to clear the highway for vehicles to pass safely. Therefore, traffic is being detoured and motorists are asked to be cautious.
Georgia State Patrol troopers are investigating the accident.
