A Mitchell County, GA, man was injured Sunday, Jan. 4, after storm winds overturned the camper he was staying in.
Straight line winds hit a barn and overturned a camper where J.T. Black was staying off Old Pelham Road. Black was taken to a local hospital for treatment but his injuries were reportedly minor.
Firefighters and paramedics were able to free Black from the camper by breaking out a window and pulling him through.
The storm damage in Mitchell County happened at about 11 a.m. Sunday. Earlier in the morning, at around 9:30 a.m., Baker and Calhoun counties were under a tornado warning, however, no major damage was reported.
The approximate area of damage from straight-line winds was described as being between Strawberry Road and Landfill Road, northwest of Pelham and south of Camilla.
