On Saturday, December 13, the City of Bainbridge and Bainbridge Leisure Services will be hosting the JINGLE BELL JOG featuring a lighted 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run at the Boat Basin Nature Trail. The 1 mile begins at 5pm followed by the 5K at 5:15pm.
All proceeds will benefit the “Shop with a Cop” program. “Shop with a Cop” was founded in 2012 by Bainbridge Public Safety. BPS partners with Decatur County Schools, DFACS, and Family Connections to find families that need a little extra help during the Holiday Season.
On Saturday, December 20, Public Safety officers are paired with chosen families to have a day of fun while Christmas shopping for their Brothers, Sisters, Mamas, and Daddies. The children purchase gifts while the parents go grocery shopping. The families then return to Public Safety to enjoy a nice lunch together, and wrap their gifts.
