BPS: Bob’s Package Store Robbed at Gunpoint, Suspect Arrested

Bainbridge Public Safety has arrested a man and a woman believed to be responsible for an armed robbery at Bob’s Package Store in Bainbridge Friday night.

According to a Bainbridge Public Safety Facebook post, the robbery happened a little after 11:00 Friday night when a slender black male entered the store brandishing a weapon and covering his face with a black rag.  The bandit fled the scene on foot wearing a neon hoodie.

After interviewing witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage, BPS officers were able to determine that one of the witnesses, who was inside the store during the robbery, was seen talking to a man that fit the man’s description prior to entering the store.  Armed with this information, officers located the witness for a follow up interview.  Because the witness was intoxicated, officers transported her to the Decatur County Jail for the night and conducted an interview the next morning, during which they gathered information concerning the whereabouts of the robbery suspect.

On Saturday morning, Chief Investigator Larry Funderburke and Investigator Chris Jordan went to Franklin Mobile Home Park and observed the male suspect leave a residence and a traffic stop was conducted.  Inside the vehicle a glove was found that matched the gloves worn by the armed robber and the suspect was taken to Bainbridge Public Safety for questioning.  During that time, his residence was searched and BPS recovered clothing that matched the description of that worn by the suspect during the robbery.

Marcia Renarda Halyard (37) of a Crawfordville Florida address, was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery (Felony).

Jamica Lorenzo Bryant, Jr. (34) of a Bainbridge address, was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery (Felony), two counts of Aggravated Assault (Felony), and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon (Felony).
