Due to concerns of severe weather, schools in the following counties will be closed Friday, April 18:
- Baker County
- Cook County
- Miller County
- Mitchell County
- Colquitt County
- Decatur County Schools
- Pelham City Schools
- Seminole County Schools
- Thomas County Schools
- Thomasville City Schools
In addition, the following individual schools will be closed:
- Thomas University
- Wiregrass Georgia Technical College
- Baconton Community Charter Schools
From Mitchell County Schools Superintendent Robert Adams:
The Mitchell County School System will be closed (students only) on Friday, April 19th due to inclement weather. Faculty and Staff will report to work on April 19th (regular time if weather conditions permit). School will resume on Monday, April 22nd for students, faculty, and staff at the regular time.
Baconton Community Charter School will be closed on Friday, April 19th for students, faculty/staff.
Notification will be sent via of local news, school website and our school alert system.
