A large smoker was stolen from the Mt. Pleasant Volunteer Fire Department late Wednesday night and authorities are asking for the public’s help. A $1000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those involved.
According to reports, the smoker was stolen sometime after 9:00 p.m. Wednesday from a covered shelter at the Fire Department off of Highway 97 N.
The smoker has a rounded front, three doors and a double smoke stack in the rear along with a fire box. Witnesses reported seeing a large U-Haul type truck in the area at the time and authorities believe that vehicle may have been involved.
