Bainbridge Public Safety responded to an armed robbery call at Taco Bell in Bainbridge over the weekend.
According to the incident report, here’s what happened:
On Sunday, March 18th Officer Jayson Myers was dispatched to Taco Bell in reference to an armed robbery. An employee arrived at work and began to open everything up for the day. She stated that she left the doors unlocked because she knew that other employees would be arriving to work soon.
As the employee was in the back of the store, she noticed a black male subject walk up pointing a silver and black gun towards her. She immediately asked the subject what he wanted and the suspect asked her where the cameras were in the store. The suspect then demanded that she give him the DVR box containing the surveillance tape. After giving the suspect the DVR box, he then demanded that she give him all of the money from the safe. The employee handed the suspect the bag containing approximately $850.00 in cash and coins. According to the report, after taking the bank bag the suspect made her give up her cell phone and the Taco Bell cordless phone. The suspect then placed all of the items into his backpack and ran out. The victim waited a few minutes before walking out of the store and then drove to Burger King to use their phone to call the police.
The suspect was described as a black male in his late 20’s or early 30’s approximately 6 feet tall, between 180 and 200 pounds. At the time of the robbery, he was described as wearing a blue plaid jacket with a grey hoodie, camouflage shorts and dirty white tennis shoes.
