Original Story (4:30 p.m.)
There was a traffic accident on the Bainbridge Bypass at approximately 4:15 Friday afternoon.
We are still waiting official word from law enforcement, but it appeared a tractor trailer was travelling east between the Shotwell Street and Faceville Highway exits when it ran into a stopped Georgia Department of Transportation truck.
GDOT has been working on the Bainbridge bypass throughout the day today.
Georgia State Patrol, Bainbridge Public Safety and EMS were on the scene.
Traffic is slowed in the area, so avoid that route if possible. We will post more details when they are available.
