Southwest Georgia News Roundup: Thomasville schools locked down because of threats

A note on the floor in the Bulldog Cafe boys restroom in the Scholars Academy basement caught a student’s eye.

The student read the note, showed it to another student and decided he should turn it in. The note — written on notebook paper — was given to a teacher about 8 a.m. Thursday.

The note said the writer did not want to live any longer and made threats of “some type of explosive in the north end of the building at MacIntyre Park Middle School,” said Capt. Maurice Holmes, Thomasville Police Department Criminal Investigations Division commander.
