An adult and juvenile from Decatur County are charged with stealing an unlocked car parked outside a church on Easter Sunday and then taking it for a joyride to Florida, where they were later captured.
The adult, Tavaris Antonio Perkins, 19, is currently being held at the Leon County (Fla.) Jail and also faces charges in an unrelated case in Bainbridge Municipal Court.
The juvenile, who was already on house arrest before helping steal the car, is being held in a juvenile detention facility.
Bainbridge Public Safety Investigator Ryan Deen talks about the case in an exclusive interview with Sowegalive.com on Monday, April 28.
In part 1 of the interview, approximately 4 minutes long, Investigator Deen talks about the case and how Tallahassee police caught up with the suspects.
In part 2 of the interview, Investigator Deen gives tips on how citizens can prevent car break-ins and the theft of valuables.
