Crooks take car from church, go for joy ride to Florida

An adult and juvenile from Decatur County are charged with stealing an unlocked car parked outside a church on Easter Sunday and then taking it for a joyride to Florida, where they were later captured.

The adult, Tavaris Antonio Perkins, 19, is currently being held at the Leon County (Fla.) Jail and also faces charges in an unrelated case in Bainbridge Municipal Court.

The juvenile, who was already on house arrest before helping steal the car, is being held in a juvenile detention facility.
